BPH Seeks Homeless Point-in-Time Count Assistance

Brunswick Partnership for Housing (BPH) seeks your help. Annually, all counties in the U.S. participate in what’s called the Point-in-Time Count of homeless people in their communities. This annual Point-in-Time Count gives agencies a picture of who is homeless as well as their needs to help ensure services better fit the needs. Brunswick County's Point-in-Time Count is the 24-hour period from midnight January 24 to midnight January 25. Because Brunswick is such a large county, BPH is asking local residents for help in providing information about the location of encampments and where homeless individuals and families are residing. This will enable BPH and other agencies to deliver supplies to them, connect them with services as needed and gather basic information.

According to BPH executive director, Sally Learned, the community can help in two ways: 1) call 910-946-1501 with locations of encampments; and 2) help by donating hygiene and nutrition bags and blankets for distribution. Donations may be dropped off at 250 E 11th Street, Southport. If you have questions or need information, call Learned at 910-946-1501 or email at admin@brunswickpartnership.org.

Thank you … Build Hope a Success

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Build Hope campaign is a success, raising more that $33,000 to meet the $25,000 challenge grant from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport. While we still have less that $20,000 left to retire the mortgage on the Felton-Russell House, we are well on our way to acheive that goal. Providing transitional housing for homeless in need is not possible without your continued support. Please donate today.
